A stunning decorative Minakari coffee set (9 pieces) consisting of tray, and four small Turkish coffee cups and saucers.This decorative set is not intended for serving food or drink but for display only. Each cup lined with white enamel. Done in Minakari style enamel on metal. The tray features a medallion in the center, with an intricate miniature painting of the Siosepol bridge. All pieces have amazing detailed designs, in a repeating design motif of traditional hand-painted art in traditional colors. All colors are very vivid, with green dominating. This true work of art is believed to be purchased in the late 1950s.We try to be as accurate as possible in our descriptions, & we are very particular about disclosing any flaws or damage. Measurements: Tray dimensions: approx. 12″ x 8.5″ saucer dimensions: approx. 3.5” (see photos with ruler).CONDITION: Great condition stored away from light in a dust free pet free environment. No nicks or chips ( inspect pictures carefully), slight corrosion on saucers’ rim (see photos) which is to be expected considering its age and the fact that copper is a soft metal and corrodes. Items have not been cleaned/polished or otherwise altered with original patina. All of the colors are very vivid. Any damage, inconsistency or marking will appear in the photos and are listed. We include numerous photos (each item pictured separately) with all listings, most photos can be enlarged for more careful viewing. This stone and brick bridge was reportedly built in 1602. The shady arcades offer a place to sit and relax and are still used to this day especially during the sunset hours in the summer.Minakari (Meenakari) or Enameling is a handmade process by painting intricate designs over the surface of metal by glazing colors and firing it in the furnace. Minakari is one of the distinguished handicrafts in Isfahan. It is also called “miniature” – used in jewelry, tile and metal ornaments. The process begins with a metal sheet covered with thick white enamel baked in a kiln. The goal is to create a white canvas. When the piece is white and smooth, the artisan or Minakar paints with colors made with various chemical oxides to achieve different shades. After painting, the process is done finished in a kiln. Once out the kiln, the Minakars usually cover it with a thin layer of transparent enamel, so that the surface is smooth to touch and shiny to the eye with another trip to the kiln.
